Great way to improve shifting performance on an 80's 911
This bushing was a lot easier to replace than I thought it was going to be - and it made a huge difference.

If you are scared at all about this project, don't be, it is very straight forward and made a huge difference.

Good product - Sucessful Repair Project

Grab a few for the future
Not implying they wear out fast. Just saying its not a bad idea to have a spare for future use, or to hand off to a friend. These bushings should be an occasional maintenance item to keep the 915 shifting OK

Removing slack in 911 gearshift
After reading the technical hints on the Pelican pages the fitting of this bush was as easy as could be. Now have a very tight gearshift. Regards Rhys

Exact fit
This fit the description exactly - be careful not to put too much grease into the cup as that will keep the ball from staying inside which will make your experience of reassembly very difficult.

Kit is just like OEM
This kit made a big difference in my transmission and looked just like the OEM stuff I was pulling off (except of course it wasn't all beat up).

Ball Cup Shift Bushing
Made a big difference in shift quality combined with the shift rod bushing

Great item
Original one was completely gone, only thing left was some white bits down around the ball where this should have been at. Install as instructed, and read instructions before tearing apart, especially if you are doing all the bushing.

Bushings for 915 trans
I replaced the ball cup & shift rod bushings, cone screw in one shot. All parts arrived quickly, were straight forward to install and worked as intended. Note: I also replaced the shift coupler (from Ed, the Coupler Whisperer) as part of this project. None of my bushings were in bad shape, but I did notice some improvement in shifting. The worst part of the installation was removing my center console.

Rear Ball Cup Bushing for 914
Wow, what a difference this ball cup bushing made! My shift lever was loose and sloppy. I changed out a couple of the shift rod bushings, but this was the one that really made a huge difference. The new one is so tight and the shift action is now a lot more firm but accurate. I wish I had done this a long time ago and the install was simple.

excellent fit. Make sure to snap it on the shifter, then drop it into the cup on the rod. A friend told me this in advance and made the installation simple and quick- 20 minutes. MUCH TIGHTER SHIFTING!
