The pressure plate is what holds the clutch disc against the flywheel and transfers power from the engine to the transmission. If the pressure plate is old or failing, the clamping force may not be enough to transfer all of the power from the flywheel to the transmission without having the clutch 'slip.' A worn out clutch disc may also contribute to the slipping of the clutch.
This bearing acts as a guide for the drive shaft of the transmission. Every complete clutch job should include a replacement of this flywheel bearing. Pilot Bearing failure can lead to significant damage to the transmission input shaft.
If your clutch hoses appear swollen or cracked, they may need replacement. Replace your hoses today and keep your car running. Don't take that chance of breaking a clutch hose and being stranded by the side of the road.
UUC's Stainless Clutch Line is used to "performance tune" your clutch control. Inner Teflon line is covered with woven stainless steel braid that will not expand under pressure. The original clutch line is rubber and can expand under the normal pressure of use. This expansion of the line negatively affects the clutch slave cylinder actuation, and makes for mushy pedal feedback. The advantages of a stainless steel line include better clutch pedal feedback and superior clutch modulation. Results will be immediate.

Many owners have noticed that they will get an excessive amount of clutch slippage and poor clutch engagement feel. This problem is most noticeable in situations calling for hard acceleration or quick shifting. The cause is an added check valve (BMW calls it a "lock valve") in the clutch hydraulic circuit that is intended to slow the engagement of the clutch as you release the pedal. This hydraulic restrictor device is intended to smooth out the feel of shifts and potentially reduce the shock load on the drivetrain. The reality is it causes a high rate of wear on the clutch and excessive heat buildup in the flywheel leading to early failure. A particular example is a "power shift" where the revs hang for a moment before fully engaging. Replacement of the valve with the no-restriction replacement Unlock Valve in these cars results in very crisp and firm shifts. With the lightweight flywheel, the engagement is so positive and quick that passengers are pushed into the seat with greater force than ever before. Installation is as simple as unscrewing the original lock valve from the slave cylinder line, replacing it with the Unlock Valve, and bleeding the slave hydraulics.
