I was worried about replacing the metal piece with an all plastic part but it seems very sturdy. Installation was easy once the door card and the two screws that hold the actuator were removed. No need to disconnect any wiring.

Part Does Not Fit
The cup part on the end of the plastic part is supposed to snap over a ball like metal piece, and the cup was too large and did not stay on tightly.

Very practical and easy to install, followed the instructions from the technical forum on door panel removal and it was a piece pf cake installation. Saved about an hour worth of labor from a mechanics invoice

Good Redesigned Part
Got this all-plastic redesigned part to replace the original metal rod with plastic head (see picture of original part).
No complaints about the replacement design. Although the redesigned all-plastic part is not as impressive looking as the original, it is functional and lighter.
Last thing -- Unscrew your power lock motor (two screws) to make installation a breeze.
