Vasek Polak Historic Porsche Racing Engine Auction

 Vasek Polak, Benefactor. To many Porsche enthusiasts, his name is well known, as a race car driver, Porsche mechanic, Porsche dealer, collector of racing cars.Mr. Polak died in 1997, from injuries sustained in a crash on the German autobahn. He left his estate to the Vasek and Anna Maria Polak Charitable Foundation, Inc. to promote cancer research and to build treatment facilities in this country and his native Czech Republic. The car collection and the dealerships are gone, but the man lives on in the memories of those who knew him.  Brian Redman, Auction Advisor. Brian competed at the top level of professional motorsport from the 1960's to the 1980's winning 5 drivers championships, and 77 professional races. He was on the factory Porsche FIA team in 1969 and with Ferrari 1972. He has competed in the Formula 1 World Championship, FIA World Endurance Championship, IMSA Championship, and the SCCA F5000 Championship. Brian began promoting the Jefferson 500 historic automobile races in 1991 and is the founder of the Targa Sixty-Six club. Brian Joined HMSA in 2005. [more info] |
 Paul Cohen, Lead Investigator. Paul is an experienced Los Angeles based investigator who relentlessly tracked down, sought out, and successfully recovered 100% of the engines that were stolen from the Vasek Foundation.  Wayne R. Dempsey, Owner of Pelican Parts. As owner and CEO of Pelican Parts, Wayne aided in the recovery of the stolen engines in early 2006. Along with the staff at Pelican Parts, he is donating his time and resources at Pelican to auction off these engines for the Vasek Foundation. Wayne is the author of several how-to books focused on Porsches and BMWs. [more info] |
