Pelican Parts presents Vasek Polak Historic Porsche Racing Engine Auction:
$1 Millon Raised for Charity!!!
About six years ago, a sizable stash of new and newly rebuilt Porsche racing engines were stolen from Vasek Polak's warehouse in Torrance, California. The Vasek Polak Charitable Trust Foundation working in conjunction with Pelican Parts, recently recovered the stolen engines and auctioned them off in a silent auction process on March 25th 2006. The lot of recovered engines included 4 normally aspirated 917 engines, one brand-new 908 engine, and a 907 hillclimb motor.
The Pelican Parts open house on March 25th showcased the engines. Featuring legendary race car driver Brian Redman as our master of ceremonies, it was a once-in-a-lifetime chance to see these legendary engines in one place. The engines were sold for an undisclosed amount greater than $1 million. The winner of the auction was Dale Miller of Miller Historic Motorcars.
Auction Results:
The entire lot was sold for an undisclosed amount greater than $1million.
