Hello all,
Dave Darling is noted as saying, a 205/60R15 is the largest setup for a stock 914. But I have not heard what works well for a 5 bolt GT flare setup. The first item I guess would be to find the proper offset of a 911 front end bolted into a 914, I assume they would be the same. The second item would be the wheel size, 7 x 16 front and 8 x 16 rear is ok, but is that the best size? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Hi Rich:

I'm using 7x15 and 8x15 (23/53? offsets) with GT flares and the fronts (the 7" with 205/55's) still need to come out another 35 - 37 mm. I'm going to try a set of 8" wheels with 205's if I can find a reasonibly priced set of wheels and will let you know. The rears, BTW, are just fine with 8" and the 225/50's...

I am currently running 8x15 and 9x15 on a '70 914/6 with GT flares. They are the RSR rims. The offset is deep and there is no need for spacers. The space between the flare and the tire is 3/8" with no rubbing problems. I've seen the rims in Panorama mag, but they spendy.
