Intercooler Hose Replacement

Clean intercooler

The intercooler hoses take a lot of abuse over their lifetime due to constant pressure changes and heat. Over time, they can rupture leaving you stranded. In this article I'll go over the steps involved with changing them out.

Accessing the hoses requires you to remove the front bumper cover. See our article on Front Bumper Cover Removal for more information.

Begin by loosening the hose clamp (green arrow) holding the intercooler hose to the throttle body.

Pull the intercooler hose off the throttle body.

Pull the intercooler hose off the throttle body.

Loosen the hose clamp (green arrow) on the left side of the intercooler.

Loosen the hose clamp (green arrow) on the left side of the intercooler.

Pull the intercooler hose leading to the throttle body off the intercooler.

Pull the intercooler hose leading to the throttle body off the intercooler. Pull the hose out from the front. You're now ready to install the new left side hose.

Loosen the hose clamp (green arrow) on the right side of the intercooler and pull the hose off.

Follow the right side intercooler hose (yellow arrow) down to where it attaches to the turbo outlet hose.

Follow the right side intercooler hose (yellow arrow) down to where it attaches to the turbo outlet hose. Loosen the hose clamp (green arrow) and pull the other end off. You're now ready to install the new left side hose. Note that the intercooler has been removed for clarity.
