Parts Required:

Outside mirror assembly

Hot Tip:

Hold the mirror while you remove the last mounting screw

Complementary Modification:

Install custom outside mirror covers

In this article, I'll go over the steps involved with replacing the outside mirrors on your Volvo C30. This is a pretty easy job, but it does require removing the door panel first. See our article on Door Panel Removal for more information.

Press the tab on the electrical connector (green arrow) going to the mirror assembly and pull it off.

Press the tab on the electrical connector (green arrow) going to the mirror assembly and pull it off. Also pull the plastic securing lug (yellow arrow) out of the door with a small pick.

Now loosen and remove the two T30 Torx screws (green arrows) holding the outside mirror to the door frame.

Use a small pick to pry out the cover plug shown here (green arrow).

Loosen and remove the T30 Torx screw underneath while also holding the mirror assembly to keep it from dropping on the ground.

Now simply remove the mirror.

Now simply remove the mirror. Make sure that the harness (green arrow) does not get caught on anything while pulling it through the access hole. Installation is the reverse of the removal.
