Climate Control Unit Replacement

Performance Gain:

Replace the outer waterfall console cover with a custom one.

Complementary Modification:

Change gearshift knob and boot

Replacing the climate control unit is one of those jobs that is a bit on the tougher side as it requires removing the waterfall console from the car. Please see our article on Waterfall Console Removal for more information. Once the waterfall console is removed, replacing the climate control unit is easy. You may also want to consider upgrading the outer waterfall console panel to a custom one while it is apart.

Loosen and remove the four T15 Torx screws (green arrows) holding the upper portion of the console together

Now loosen and remove the four T15 Torx screws (green arrows) holding the lower portion of the console together.

Now loosen and remove the four T15 Torx screws (green arrows) holding the lower portion of the console together. Carefully remove the backside of the console.

Now simply lift the front of the waterfall console off the climate control unit.

Now simply lift the front of the waterfall console off the climate control unit.

Show here is the climate control unit removed and ready for replacement.

Show here is the climate control unit removed and ready for replacement. Installing the new one is the reverse of removal. You may also want to change the front panel for the waterfall console at this time to a custom one while you have it apart.
