Switches wear out. It's a fact of life with a car. If you go to lower a window and nothing happens, it's a good bet that the switch mechanism has worn out and needs to be replaced. Replacement of the headlight switch is easy and should take less than 10 minutes.

Keep in mind that the headlight switch also incorporates a few other functions as well as controlling the lights like the gas door and the interior light dimmer. If these components are non-operational, you'll have to replace the switch as well.

Use a flathead screwdriver or plastic trim removal tool to carefully pry the switch out of the dashboard.

Use a flathead screwdriver or plastic trim removal tool to carefully pry the switch out of the dashboard. Take care not to damage the upholstery around the switch opening.

Once free, pull the switch out of the dashboard and turn it over to access the electrical connection.

Press the tab on the electrical connector (green arrow) and pull it out of the switch.

Press the tab on the electrical connector (green arrow) and pull it out of the switch. Fit the electrical connector to the new switch and press the new switch back into the dashboard.
