Rear Interior Side Panel Removal

Removing the rear interior side panels on the C30 is an easy job and should only take an hour. Removing the rear seat before taking out the side panels makes the job much easier. Please see our article on Rear Seat Removal for more information. Note that the procedure is the same for both the left and right sides or the car.

Locate and remove the trim panel covering the rear lower seat belt attachment point (green arrow).

Loosen and remove the 13mm bolt (green arrow) holding the seat belt rail to the chassis.

Pull the seat belt rail (blue arrow) back and slide the seat belt (green arrow) off.

Carefully pry the B-pillar covering the upper seat belt mechanism off at the bottom using a plastic pry tool.

Pivot the upper part of the B-pillar out from under the headliner as shown here.

Loosen and remove the T25 Torx screw (green arrow) holding the side panel to the chassis.

Now use a plastic pry tool to pry along the outer edges (green arrows) of the panel off the chassis.

Now use a plastic pry tool to pry along the outer edges (green arrows) of the panel off the chassis. Once the top and side sections are loose, you should be able to pull it out.

And here's the finished result. Installing the panel is the reverse of removal.
