Rear Seat Removal

Removing the rear seats on the Volvo C30 can be a little challenging. This article covers how to remove the seats in under an hour.

Lift the lower seat cushion up at the front edges (green arrows) until it releases.

Lift the lower seat cushion up at the front edges (green arrows) until it releases. Pull the seat cushion up and out of the car. You'll also need to pull off the plastic cover (blue arrow) between the seats.

Fold the seat backs down and locate the small cover plate (green arrow).

Loosen and remove the 10mm bolt underneath (green arrow).

Now comes the tricky part.

Now comes the tricky part. The seat back is held in with a good amount of force. You'll need to use a ratchet strap to pull it off. Attach one end of the strap to the seat back as shown here (green arrow).

Attach the other end of the strap to the upper door hinge as shown here (green arrow).

Tighten the ratchet strap until the seat back pops loose.
