The rear defrost switch is one of those pesky electrical items that tends to fail over time. This usually results in the defroster either being always on or off. Replacing the switch is easy and should take no more than ten minutes.

Remove the rear defrost switch by carefully prying it out along the edge (green arrow) with a small pick.

Once the switch pops out of the dashboard, pull it out completely until you can access the rear electrical connection.

Pull the electrical connector off the old switch.

Pull the electrical connector off the old switch. Note the tabs on the switch (green arrow). These tabs prevent you from installing the switch incorrectly.
