The cup holder is one of those items that seems to lock up over time, due to spilled soda or coffee. Eventually, the internal folding mechanism can break, leaving you with no place to hold your drink. In this article, I'll show you how to replace the cupholder in under ten minutes.

The cupholder assembly is held in place by two locking tabs.

The cupholder assembly is held in place by two locking tabs. This picture shows the cupholder installed in the mounting frame. You'll need to push back the locking tab (green arrow) on either side to release it from the mounting frame.

Open the cup holder flap and insert two small screwdrivers in the access holes (green arrows) to release the cup holder.

The last step is to pull the cupholder assembly out of the mounting frame.

The last step is to pull the cupholder assembly out of the mounting frame. Be sure to clean the area well if coffee or soda has been spilled. The new cup holder simply slides into the frame until it locks in place.
