In this article, I'll go over the steps involved with removing the rear bumper. Removal is easy and should take no more than an hour once the rear bumper cover is removed. See our article on Rear Bumper Cover Removal for more information.

Right Side of Bumper: Loosen and remove the two 13mm bolts (green arrows) holding the rear bumper to the chassis.

Left Side of Bumper: Loosen and remove the two 13mm bolts (green arrows) holding the rear bumper to the chassis.

At this point, you can slide the bumper shocks out of the chassis.

At this point, you can slide the bumper shocks out of the chassis. You may want to have a helper nearby to help with this. Installation is the reverse order of removal.
