Glove box

A few projects on the Mk4 Jetta require you to remove the glove box. In this article, I'll go over the steps involved with doing the job yourself.

Removing the glove box is required for a few projects on the Mk4 Jetta.

Removing the glove box is required for a few projects on the Mk4 Jetta. Begin by removing the center console. See our article on Center Console Removal for more information.

Loosen and remove the three T20 Torx screws (green arrows) along the bottom edge of the glovebox.

Loosen and remove the five T20 Torx screws (green arrows) along the top edge of the glove box.

Loosen and remove the five T20 Torx screws (green arrows) along the top edge of the glove box. Use a small flathead screwdriver to pop the light bulb assembly (yellow arrow) out of the side of the glove box. Pull the electrical connection off the bulb. You are now ready to lower the glove box down from the dashboard.

And here's the finished result with the glove box removed. Installing the glove box is the reverse order of removal.
