Removing the front bumper cover is the starting point for many of the jobs you will want to perform at the front of the vehicle.

You do not need to lift the car or remove the wheels to take the bumper cover off but it will give you more room to work if you do.

A great many of these cars have had the engine trays and front side shields removed over the years and not replaced.

If you happen to have a car that still has all the under trays and original hardware here is what you need to do. There are four T25 Torx screws (red arrows) on each side holding the tray on, remove them and slide the tray back out of the friction clips (yellow arrows) on the front air dam.

Once the screws are removed slide the tray (red arrow) back and down.

To remove the lower wheel liner; begin by loosening the T25 Torx screw just in front of the strut (red arrow).

With the Torx screws removed (red arrows) and the inner Torx loosed (yellow arrow) you can slip the liner down and out from the vehicle.

From inside the wheel well looking forward you can see the side marker (red arrow), fog light (yellow arrow) and the head light washer nozzle (green arrow).

Remove the side marker by pressing in the clip on the edge rear edge (red arrow) and push the assembly out.

With the unit out of the bumper you can see the retaining clip (red arrow) and the wiring connection (yellow arrow).

Pull the wiring (red arrow) straight back and off the plastic unit (yellow arrow), this will separate them and expose the bulb.

Back inside the wheel well you can see the rear of the fog light.

Back inside the wheel well you can see the rear of the fog light. The wiring harness (yellow arrow) connects to bulb (red arrow) which sits in the fog light assembly. You can now remove the bulb, if you just want to remove the wiring harness unclip the connection and separate them.

Turn the bulb base counter clockwise until the cut outs in the fog light assembly line up with the tabs in the bulb base (red arrow).

Remove the T25 Torx screw that attaches the bumper cover to the fender (red arrow, one on each side).

On the right side of the vehicle is the windshield washer reservoir.

On the right side of the vehicle is the windshield washer reservoir. Separate the quick disconnect connection for the head light washers pump (red arrow) by pushing in the connection and then pulling straight back. If there is fluid in the reservoir be prepared to catch it in a container when you disconnect the hose.

Remove the four T25 screws holding the bottom of the cover to the lower mount below the radiator (red arrows).

On the top of the bumper remove the two T30 Torx screws (red arrows).

On the top of the bumper remove the two T30 Torx screws (red arrows). You will need to remove the grill first. Please see our article on removing your grill for further assistance.

Slide the bumper forward and off the car.

Slide the bumper forward and off the car. If you could not reach the quick disconnect for the headlight washers from below you can reach it from above before you fully remove the bumper (red arrow).

There are two plastic connectors (red arrows) that the cover sits in on each side, make sure these line up and connect when reinstalling.
