The front grill on the GTI MkV is held in by two T25 Torx screws (yellow arrows) on top, two T20 Torx screws (red arrows) and two clips (green arrows).

The front grill on the GTI MkV is held in by two T25 Torx screws (yellow arrows) on top, two T20 Torx screws (red arrows) and two clips (green arrows). You have to remove the grill to remove the badge (blue arrow).

Begin by removing the two T25 Torx screws (red arrow) on top.

Remove the two lower T20 Torx screws (red arrow).

Gently pry forward the two clips (red arrow) and lift the grill upwards.

Lift the grill up (red arrows) and then forward (yellow arrows)

The grill must be removed from the back of the grill.

The grill must be removed from the back of the grill. Turn the grill over and there are three plastic clips holding the badge to the grill (yellow arrows). Turn the grill clockwise. Squeeze in the clips and push the badge out from the grill. Use caution on the clips as the get brittle with age.

Here is the badge out of the grill.

Here is the badge out of the grill. You can see the two plastic clips survived (red arrows) while one broke (yellow arrow). The green arrow indicates where the clips slide into the grill. Installation is the reverse of removal.
