There are a host of components behind the glove box on the Porsche 944 or 951 that you may want to get access to, from the DME to the alarm system or just upgrading your stereo. The glove box is simple to remove and reinstall. You should be able to have it out in less than 30 minutes, even the first time you do it.

Open the glove box door.

Open the glove box door. Beside the Philips head screws you will need to pay attention to two additional areas, the vent tube (red arrow) and the light (yellow arrow).

Begin by removing the five Philip head screws holding the inner glove box in place (red arrows).

Slide the insert box out from the dash.

Slide the insert box out from the dash. The vent tube should just separate from the port on the side of the glove box (red arrow).

With the glove box removed you can see the bracket that the rear of the insert sits in (yellow arrow) along with the tube (red arrow).
