Parts Required:

Air filter housing, air filter

Hot Tip:

Clean the filter housing before re-installing.

Performance Gain:

Access to alternator, steering pump and other components
Removing the air filter housing is easy and gives you room to work on other components like alternator and power steering pump.
Left side of car - After removing the air filter cover, filter element and MAF sensor, lift the water line (green arrow) up and over the top of the air filter housing.

Both sides of car: The filter housing is secured to the car with a single 10mm bolt (green arrow).

Both sides of car: The filter housing is secured to the car with a single 10mm bolt (green arrow). Remove the bolt and then go inside the wheel well of the car.

Both sides of car: This view shows the filter housing from inside the wheel well. You'll need to pull the intake hose (green arrow) off the snout at the front of the housing (yellow arrow).

Both sides of car: Shown here is a close-up of the intake hose connection. When re-installing the housing, make sure to pull the lip of the hose over the lip on the housing (green arrow) It might take a little bit of force to pull it on.

Both sides of car: Note the grommets at the bottom of the filter housing (green arrows).

Both sides of car: Note the grommets at the bottom of the filter housing (green arrows). Pull the housing up and out of the grommets on the chassis. When re-installing the housing, make sure the tabs fit into the grommets.

Both sides of car: Tilt the filter housing (green arrow) towards the engine to remove it from the car.

Both sides of car: Tilt the filter housing (green arrow) towards the engine to remove it from the car. Simply pull it up and out once free. Be sure to clean the insides of the housings with a rag before re-installing.
