Mercedes-Benz E55 AMG (2003-06)

Door trim, trim clips

Performance Gain:

Refresh worn trim

Complementary Modification:

Replace all six pieces at once

The door trim pieces on W211 models add a nice chrome strip and a painted area of protection against dings and impacts usually occurring in parking lots.

This tech article will show you how to replace the left side door trim. The right side is similar. There is two door trim pieces on each side, and one fender trim piece on each side. The trim pieces are held in by plastic clips. These clips can fail due to impact or age, leaving you with loose trim. The trim can also wear from door dings and impacts. Use this tech article to remove the trim and replace the clips, or replace the entire trim piece. I suggest having the trim pieces painted before beginning. Once painted, install them and enjoy the fresh look of your W211.

Keep in mind that when your car was serviced before, parts may have been replaced with different size fasteners used in the replacement. The sizes of the nuts and bolts we give may be different from what you have, so be prepared with different size sockets and wrenches.

Protect your eyes, hands and body from fluids, dust and debris while working on your vehicle. If you're working with the electrical system, disconnect the battery before beginning. Always catch fluids in appropriate containers and properly dispose of any fluid waste. Recycle parts, packaging and fluids when possible. Never work on your vehicle if you feel the task is beyond your ability.

Our vehicle may vary slightly from yours as models do change and evolve, as they grow older. If something seems different, let us know and share your info to help other users.
