Sometimes when repairing your car you are going to need to gain access to the bottom of the engine compartment. Mercedes Benz has installed two splash shields underneath the engine and transmission to protect the underside of the car from road debris, water and snow. In this tech article we will show you how to remove your lower splash shields.

You will need to safely lift and support the vehicle to remove the shields. Please see our tech article on jacking up and supporting your vehicle. Remember to always wear safety glasses anytime you're working under your car.
