Unlike most modern cars the Mercedes-Benz SLK230 only has one under body tray on the car. Under body trays are used for a multitude of reasons and it is important that if you remove the tray to perform work that you replace it prior to putting the car back on the road. The tray is used to protect the underbody of the car and the systems attached to it, they also keep the weather and elements out of certain areas while some divert air to assist in cooling certain systems on the car. Another added benefit is that the tray aids the airflow under the car which will increase your mileage.

The front engine under body tray is held in place by four 8mm bolts.
