Fog Light Bulb and Assembly Replacement

If your fog lights have stopped working this article will show you how to change out both the bulbs and the complete assembly.

The procedures are the same for both sides.

The two fog light and assemblies can be accessed by removing the lower front body tray.

With the tray removed reach up and squeeze in the tab on the electrical connection and pull it off the assembly (red arrow).

If you are replacing the bulb turn the base of the bulb counter-clockwise (red arrow).

If you are replacing the bulb turn the base of the bulb counter-clockwise (red arrow). These can get stuck due to all the dirt and debris collected under the car so if yours are sticking make sure to give them a good cleaning and maybe a little lubrication.

With the base turned you can remove the bulb and base.

You can now replace the bulb.

You can now replace the bulb. Never touch the bulb with your bare skin, as oils in your skin can cause a hot spot and diminish the life expectancy of the bulb. Installation is the reverse of removal.

If you are replacing the assembly there are four small tabs that you must push inward and gently remove from the assembly.

If you are replacing the assembly there are four small tabs that you must push inward and gently remove from the assembly. Do not do this project if the plastic is cold, as it tends to get brittle and break. Park the car inside and let everything warm up if it is winter outside. Installation is the reverse of removal.
