On this CD-ROM, you will find: - Technical Articles - Parts Diagrams - Q&A Sections - Classic Porsche Literature - Technical Spec Info - Our On-Line Catalog - Some other unpublished information and photos of stuff in development, (if you look carefully) Right now, this CD will work well only with Windows 95/98 and Windows NT computers. You could use the CD-ROM with computers running Windows 3.11, but navigation within your browser might be difficult because Windows 3.11 truncates the Windows 95/98 and NT long filenames. Installation ------------ There really isn't much to the installation. Simply insert the CD-ROM into your drive, and then start your web browser. From your browser's FILE menu, choose "Open File in Browser", or "Open" or "Open Page," etc. It of course depends upon which browser you are using. After you get to a dialog box asking you to locate a file, point your browser to the CD-ROM, and choose the file 'index.htm' from within the pelicanparts directory. It's that simple. I would suggest putting this file in your bookmarks for easy recall later on. After your browser has loaded up the Pelican Parts Home Page, then you should be able to follow the links on the CD, just as if you were surfing the web. It should be noted that a few of the small gadgets that are on the website will not work on the CD-ROM because they require the use of the Pelican Parts Server. The gadgets that do not work include: - The access counter - The random image generator in the catalog - The Pelican Parts Bulletin Board - The Website Search Engine (we are working on getting a CD-only search engine so people can search the CD locally) - The location picker in the catalog - The mail forms on the Registration Page If you have any questions, concerns, or problems with the CD, then don't hesitate to email us at pelicanparts@csi.com or call us at 1-888-280-7799.
