SEAT UPGRADE
Not much to the seat
upgrade. The car came with OEM vinyl seats. Although they are in
excellent condition, they are very hot in the summer and do not have adequate
lumbar support for me.

Here are the OE Seats. Four 10 mm bolts per seat and they are out. Each weighs 37 lbs. |

Front view of the DAD seat
with measurements. The seats are jet black, I lightened the pictures for
detail purposes.
Measurement @ white arrow: 12", green arrow: 10.5", yellow arrow: 12.5". Weight is 25 lbs. |

Bottom view with double locking slider. 911 OE is a single locking slider, make sure you get a double locker for the driver's seat. The dimension between the slider studs is 13 3/8" on center. The dimension between the mounting holes on the car is 16" on center. |

I used four 16 x 2.5 x
1/4 inch steel strips (two per seat), to mount the seats. Before drilling
the holes in the strips for the DAD studs, I moved the OE seat all the
way forward and measured the distance from the back of the seat to the
steering wheel (14"). This way I insured that the forward travel of he
DAD seat would match. Others (6 foot plus people who don't have short
wives) may want to set the seat more rearward. Here they are attached to
the car.
This picture was stolen from Ryan a/k/a NapTownSpeedy, but mine look exactly the same. |
