Tired of sucking up bad tasting brake fluid? Tired of bleeding your brakes using the old fashioned method of bribing a family member to stomp on the pedal? Try a vacuum bleeder. This system sucks fluid through the brake lines and eliminates all air bubbles from a normal system. Also very useful is our Pelican Technical Article on Bleeding Porsche Brakes.
Até is the best brake fluid in the business. Be sure to check your owner's manual to determine the correct brake fluid specification for your car. The unique blue color allows you to see when you have finished flushing out your entire system of old brake fluid. Plus, it's blue, so it's just plain cooler than ordinary fluid. Alternate between the gold and the blue so that you know when you have completely flushed out your system.
Brake calipers can operate at greater than 1000 degrees Fahrenheit. When rebuilding your calipers, make sure that you use specially formulated grease that will not break down under the stress of the braking system. Place the grease on the side of the caliper away from the pads, to avoid having the grease be a collector of brake dust. Also helps to avoid caliper sticking, seizure, and rust when the car is sitting for long periods of time (winter storage). Brand may vary.
