Pressure Plates |
| Original Equipment Manufacturer for Porsche, these Sachs pressure plates are the industry standard for replacement of your 996/Boxster clutch. The pressure plate is what holds the clutch disc against the flywheel and transfers power from the engine to the transmission. If the pressure plate is old or failing, the clamping force may not be enough to transfer all of the power from the flywheel to the transmission without having the clutch 'slip.' Throw Out Bearings And Parts |
| You should always throw out your old throw out bearing everytime that you replace your clutch disc and pressure plate. The throw-out bearing usually lasts longer than the pressure plate and disc, however, throw out bearings can be notoriously unpredictable. We advise that you replace the throw-out bearing when replacing the disc or pressure plate because a bearing failure will require you to drop the entire engine again. Replacement of the throw out bearing is cheap insurance against failure. |
