There are some people who prefer the spring center discs to the rubber centered discs. We recommend using the spring-centered disc because it is a better design, and we have seen a lot of problems with the rubber disc. More often than not, the rubber center of the clutch disc breaks apart before the actual clutch disc wears out. The 944 Turbo Sport Disc is a spring centered disc that has a much higher clamping capacity and a stiffer ride. Although better for racing performance, we don't recommend the sport disc for everyday driving. |

Often times the starter motor gets replaced and gets damaged by the old ring gear. While the clutch is out, inspect the ring gear for worn or broken teeth, it is easily replaced and you need not worry about any related maladies caused by a bad ring gear. |
