Brake Fluid |
| ATE makes the best brake fluid in the business. The main benefits are: Minimal decrease of boiling point due to excellent water locking properties. Non-foaming when filling and bleeding the brake system. Excellent corrosion protection due to selected additives. High safety tolerance against steam bubbles. Makes brake fluid changing intervals of up to 3 years possible (Typ 200). Both ATE Super Blue and Typ 200 Gold meets and exceeds US safety standard FMVSS, SAE specs and ISO 4925 requirements. Also compatible for use in clutch hydraulics and ABS Braking systems. |

Master Cylinders  |
| Are your brakes feeling a bit spongy? Feel like the pedal is pressing into a large vat of cottage cheese? It may very well be that your master cylinder is worn out. Replace it with a brand new one! The seals inside the master cylinder age with time, and let fluid leak past when compressing. When Porsche manufactured the 944, it used two different suppliers for master cylinders and vacuum boosters. Although the unit together is interchangeable (master cylinder and booster), if you need to replace the master cylinder, you need to make sure it matches the booster that is in your car. Same thing goes for the booster. |

Brake Booster and Related Components |
| The brake booster is a particularly expensive piece to replace. There is only one manufacturer of these, and they price them in the stratosphere. The good news is that these don't usually need to be replaced. Used on the power brake cars, they accept a vacuum hose from the engine manifold, and use that vacuum pressure to assist in the movement of the master cylinder. |
