Clutch Disc Alignment Tool |
| The clutch alignment tool is used to center the clutch disc in relation to the flywheel when mounting your pressure plate. Essentially, it slides into the splines on the flywheel and orients the disc so that it stays centered and stationary as you install the pressure plate over it. Without this tool, you will find it difficult if not impossible to mate the transmission to the engine once the new clutch is installed on the flywheel. |

Throw Out Bearings |
| You should always throw out your old throw-out bearing everytime that you replace your clutch disc and pressure plate. A loud squeak when the clutch pedal is pressed in can indicate that there is a problem with your throw-out bearing. This can also indicated a flywheel pilot bearing problem as well. |

Flywheels |
| The flywheel has essentially three functions in your engine. First, it is used to balance the rotating mass of the crankshaft and pistons. Second to provide the starter with a gear to rotate the engine when you are starting the car. Third, it is used to provide the clutch disc with a surface to catch to, thereby transferring power from the engine, through the clutch assembly then out to the transmission. Over time, flywheels can come out of round, due to wear and age. If you need a new flywheel, we here at Pelican can provide you with a new unit. Also, whenever you remove the flywheel, always replace the flywheel bolts for extra insurance. |

| High Performance Lightweight Flywheels |
| A lot of your engine's horsepower can be wasted simply by making it work extra hard to spin up the rotational mass on the flywheel. Reducing the flywheel weight increases horsepower at the drivetrain, and also makes the throttle more responsive. Our lightweight aluminum flywheels are designed to reduce as much rotational weight as possible, increasing performance without sacrificing drivability. |

| Flywheel Bolts |
| These should be replaced every time that the flywheel is replaced, since they are under a tremendous amount of pressure for most of their lives. Be careful when removing the old ones. If they strip, then you might have to grind them off, possibly destroying your flywheel, and possibly melting your flywheel seal in one big expensive operation. |
