Handbrake Levers |
| Is your old handbrake lever broken or rusted out from age? Replace it with a new late-style one, and avoid having your parking brake released at inopportune times. It is highly recommended that early 914 owners with the troublesome two piece style handbrake update to the later one piece design. It is a direct bolt-in replacement with no modifications needed. Also prone to failure is the small ratchet catch under the handbrake. The catch can strip its gears, rendering the handbrake useless. |

| The MDS Nylon Steering Column Split Ring Bushing is made of a self-lubricating bearing material. This high quality bushing replaces the steel factory bushing. It is recommended that before installing the new bushing you inspect the roller bearing and use some wheel bearing grease to lubricate the ball bearings. Also inspect the spring; the spring puts tension on the split ring bushing by pushing it into the gap between the roller bearing and the steering shaft. This is what takes the play out of your steering wheel. If you feel that the spring doesn't have the correct tension or is broken, we recommend you purchase a new one since the bushing is no better than the tension that the spring provides. Instructions included. |
