Air Filters |
| Clogged air filters can reduce air flow into the injection system causing reduced power, and inefficiency in the fuel injection system. Replace yours with an original style filter, or replace it with a K&N filter that will last the life of your car. |

Auxiliary Air Regulators |
| The auxiliary air regulator is used to provide the engine with extra air when it is cold. When the temperature reaches a certain point the valve closes and prevents additional air from entering the injection system. If the unit fails, it can cause a high idle, as extra air is entering the engine, or it can cause the engine to idle rough, as the extra air causes the motor to run lean. A good way to check the unit is to remove it when the engine has heated up. If you can blow air through the valve, the unit is probably defective and needs to be replaced. |

AFC (L-Jetronic) Air Flow Sensor |
| Tip: Stepping on the gas when starting your 1.8 may lead to a backfire that can damage the small sensor flap which measures mass air flow. New units are a quick bolt-on replacement. Note: Additional $50 Core charge applies for rebuilt. |

Intake Manifold Hoses |
| Old manifold hoses have a tendency to crack and leak, causing a variety of fuel injection problems. New replacements are worth more than enough in saved headaches while troubleshooting injection problems. Note, the 1.7 manifold hoses are no longer available, however, the 1.8/2.0 hoses can be used as a replacement if you hose clamp them to the runners and the air plenum. Sold per each. |

Cold Start Valves |
| The cold start valve supplies extra fuel to the engine when starting the engine cold. A non-functional valve results in poor idling and tough starting when cold. |
