What is a rare earth magnet? All metallic elements with an atomic number between 57 and 71 are classified as rare earth. These rare earth magnets can produce more than 4,100 surface gauss in a tube magnet circuit compared to 1,000 and 2,000 gauss for standard Alnico and Ceramic magnet. (Gauss is a unit measuring electromagnetic force.) FilterMag's rare earth magnets are generally 5 to 10 times stronger than other magnetic filtration devices using Ceramic magnets. The newest generation of rare earth magnets consists of neodymium iron boron. (Neodymium is number 60 on the periodic table.)

| Ever wondered what your oil pressure was on your 914? Ever wondered if you even had oil pressure in that last hard corner? The stock 914s did not come with an oil pressure gauge, however adding one is a relatively easy process. Simply replace the current oil pressure 'idiot light' sending unit with a 911 style oil pressure sending unit, and place an oil pressure gauge in the center console or under the dash.
