Cooling Fans |
| Has your impeller (fan) been damaged by an overzealous mechanic or previous owner who tried to spin the engine using a screwdriver? You should never try to rotate the engine with the impeller fan blades. Instead, jack up one wheel while leaving the other one on the ground. Thermostats |
| Be cooler than all your friends by owning a new thermostat! The thermostat is connected to a cable, which in turn opens and closes vents in the impeller housing, thus regulating the amount of cool air that flows across the cylinders and the oil cooler when the car is warming up. A proper operating thermostat is essential for engine longevity in a cold climate. |

Motor Mounts |
| These are often cracked and deteriorated on most 914s. Bad motor mounts can cause troublesome shifting problems and add to the vibration in the car. Keep the shakes down by easily replacing your old motor mounts. Just place a jack under the engine, and remove the bar and the motor mounts. Note that the 1970-72 914 can also use the 911 Sport Mount as replacements for the original motor mounts. |
