Crankshaft Timing Gear |
| Did your gear get damaged when you got frustrated and used a sledge hammer to remove it from the crankshaft? If so, you're not alone. These are notoriously hard to remove, and often get damaged when removing them to install a new bearing. It is highly recommended that either a puller or a press be used to both remove and install this bearing to prevent possible damage. |

Main Bearing Sets |
| The main bearing sets support the crankshaft in the case. The bearings should be matched to the crank and the case. One of the cornerstones of any engine rebuild is to replace the main bearings. It is important to also figure out what size bearings you need for your rebuild. Many times, crankshafts need to be machined down to remove damage or wear. Thus you would need to order a set of oversize bearings to make up for the material lost during machining. Be sure to get the specs from your machine shop prior to ordering a set. Wrist Pin Bushings |
| Does your engine have carpal tunnel syndrome from repeated motion? Replace your wrist pin bushings when rebuilding your rods! These bushings should be checked and/or replaced when performing your engine rebuild. Note: Professional installation is highly recommended. Rod bushings need to be reamed to size after installation. This is best done with the rod removed from the motor. They require an arbor press for insertion, and also need oil passages to be machined into them prior to installation. |

Connecting Rod Bearing Sets |
| As with the main bearings, connecting rod bearings are a must for any full engine rebuild. Whereas the main bearings support the crankshaft in the engine case, the connecting rod bearings support the connecting rods on the crankshaft. It is important to determine what rod bearing size you will need for your rebuild. This is done by measuring the amount of material removed from the connecting rod journals on the crankshaft and ordering a bearing set that will accommodate for the lost material. For example, if you machine .25mm of the rod journals, you will need to order a bearing set that is .25mm oversize. |

Connecting Rod Nuts |
| Don't be crazy when you rebuild your rods. Reusing old rod nuts foolishly risks your engine rebuild. You should always replace your connecting rod nuts when rebuilding or rebushing your rods. These are special one time use nuts that are manufactured with the sole purpose of holding the rods on tight. |
