|  | | | Porsche 914 Exterior Trim - Page 6 | Exterior Door Handles  | | The design of the 914 door handles is probably the most failure prone part on the car. A combination of a small plastic latch cam and a flimsy pot metal handle can cause the handle to fail in one of two ways. First, the small plastic cam inside can snap after years of use, and render the outside door handle inoperable. The second way they can fail is by having the hinge arms of the flap snap at the pivot point, damaging the flap beyond repair. Nearly every 914 has had either of these problems at one time or another. Pelican Parts now offers two cheaper alternatives to a complete door handle replacement. For those of you with broken latch cams, we sell only the cam which is a direct replacement for the factory piece. For those of you with broken handle flaps, Pelican carries a high quality replacement flap that is designed to bolt into place, and fix the problem for good. |
