This kit allows you to convert your older, R12 style system to the new R134a system. Due to the increasingly limited amount of R12 refrigerant still left (you cannot buy it commercially anymore), the only cost-effective option is to convert your system to run the newer style R134a refrigerant which is widely available at any local auto parts store. This kit provides you with everything you need in order to correctly convert your system to use the newer refrigerant. Don't believe people who tell you that you only need to change the fittings on your fill ports. The differences between R12 and R134a systems are actually quite substantial. This kit contains the following items you'll need to successfully perform the operation yourself and learn something about air-conditioning to boot. Additionally, it is also recommended that you replace the Receiver Dryer and purchase our O-ring Seal Kit to complete this job. Once installed, the only things you'll need to do is have the system evacuated and add refrigerant. |
