Flywheel Ring Gears |
| A defective or misaligned starter can eventually lead to your starter ring gear getting chewed up. If you drop your engine, and find that your ring gear is in less than perfect condition, then you should replace it with a new one. |

Clutch Springs |
| Helper Springs |
| This small spring is located on the clutch arm of the transmission, and often becomes weak with age, or breaks entirely. Replacing the spring will restore your clutch pedal feel to its proper level. If you are having difficulty with your clutch, try replacing the helper spring and the clutch cable together, before attempting a large-scale clutch job. A worn-out spring and/or cable can contribute to a very heavy clutch feel. For more information see our Pelican Parts Technical Article on Clutch Helper Spring Replacement. |

| Clutch Pedal Spring |
| A stiff clutch may also be caused by a broken or worn out clutch pedal spring. This rather large spring is attached on the pedal cluster at the feet of the driver, and assists with the amount of force required to overcome the pressure plate in the clutch. A failure of this spring will lead to a clutch that feels a lot heavier than it should, and will require a lot more force to engage. Before replacing your clutch, make sure that you check the condition of this pedal spring. |
