| $138.50 | | Synchro Hubs | The transmission originally supplied with the standard 911 (1974-86), was the 915 type transmission gear box. The transmission supplied originally for the 911 Turbo (1976-88), was the 930 type transmission gear box. The synchro hubs are the dog-teeth that are mated with the various gears, and engage with the slider. Dog teeth become worn after the synchro rings wear out, making it difficult to get the transmission into gear, and keep it there. Sharpen up your canines with a new set of teeth, and get back your shifter.
The early 911 (1974-76) 915 transmissions can be upgraded to the later style asymmetrical synchro hubs. If you have a 915.44 series transmission (series number found on the bottom of the transmission) you may update yours to the later style synchro hubs (P-302-241-14) with the Synchro Hub Update Kit. The kit includes the double brake band, stop lock, anchor block, operating sleeve, and guide sleeve. The actual asymmetrical synchro hub is sold separately, and it is advised that you replace the synchro ring too.
NOTE: G50 transmissions do not have removable synchro hubs; you need to replace the entire gear set. |
