Removal of the steering wheel for replacement with an aftermarket wheel is a pretty easy job, and can be performed in about an hour with the right tools and a little bit of knowledge. | Steering Wheel Bearing Qwik-Fix Sleeve |
Is your steering shaft loose, or does it vibrate and rattle while you are driving? It could be that your steering wheel bearing is worn out. Replacing this bearing (sold above) is a lengthy and difficult process, however, there is a Pelican Parts qwik-fix bushing that can be installed in about a half hour. The part that actually fails is a plastic bushing located inside the bearing. This qwik-fix part replaces that bushing and restores the steering wheel bearing close to its original specifications. | This support bushing is made of a self lubricating MDS Nylon bearing material. The bushings installs easily with a light press fit on the factory roller bearing and a precise machined clearance on the steering shaft. Unlike the 928 metal sleeve there is no metal-to-metal contact on the steering shaft resulting in possible wear or vibration/rattling. Also this bushing is removable where as the 928 metal sleeve, in some instances, is not. Instructions included. |
