Suspension Bushings |
| Neatrix Rear Spring Plate Bushings |
| Its not unusual for rear spring plate bushings to wear out in less than 25,000 miles, causing uneven tire wear and annoying (and dangerous) handling problems. We have a solution youll like. Neatrix / Weltmeister replacement rubber bushings can be installed on your standard spring plates to restore original ride qualities. Neatrix rubber bushings have been tested in road and autocross 911s for thousands of miles without one squeak or failure! In addition, they feature an improved rubber formula and a design that lets your spring plate move without grinding the bushing against the rough surface of the torsion tube giving you longer life. Complete set of four bushings for your standard spring plates includes instructions and a special tool to help remove your old bushings. |

Ball Joints & Hardware |
The ball joint is the small rotating joint that screws into the bottom of your A-arm, and is located directly underneath the shocks. The ball joint is responsible for maintaining a tight connection with the shocks as the front suspension moves up and down. Understandably, the ball joint is one of the highest wear items on the car, and should be replaced every 30,000-50,000 miles depending upon the wear pattern. Loose ball joints will contribute to sloppy steering, bump steer problems, vibration in the steering wheel, and unusual handling problems. Replace your ball joints in pairs if you are going over your front suspension and would like to stiffen it back up to it's original specifications.
The large castellated nut that secures the ball joint to the A-arm (901-341-425-00) should be removed either with a chisel or an impact hammer due to the incredible amount of force necessary to budge it free. This will normally render the old nut useless, and require it to be replaced along with the ball joint. This nut also requires a special tool for installation since it needs to be properly torqued to a whopping 184 ft-lbs. This specially made socket (PEL-TOL-P210) uses a 1/2" drive and is the only tool for the job.
NOTE: When installing the ball joint threaded pin, please grease it prior to installation (per Porsche service manual). The grease keeps the pin from galling when you torque the nut down. Failure to do so will cause the pin to not seat down properly, seize up in the hole and snap. This pin is not covered under warranty if not installed properly. |

| De-Cambered Ball Joints |
Need more camber? Elephant Racing's proprietary-design De-Cambered Ball Joints provide up to 3/4 degree additional negative camber per side. Track is widened up to 1/2 inch.
The ball joint stud is non-concentric with the housing, effectively lengthening the control arm and pushing the bottom of the strut (and tire) out resulting in added negative camber.
Construction includes a true spherical bearing monoball for low-friction, freedom of movement and zero deflection.
Fully weather-sealed, De-Cambered Ball Joints are a true bolt-in using factory ball joint hardware. |

Suspension A-Arms & Parts |
Older, possibly bent A-arms may lead to premature tire failure, or strange alignment and steering problems. Replace your damaged one with a new unit, and have your 911 be A-OK! How can you tell if your A-arms are bent? In most cases, it's a bit difficult. Accidents where the front end takes a hit are sure to place small bends on your A-arms that you probably can't feel. If you car has trouble being aligned straight, then there might be a chance that your A-arms are bent. Ask your alignment expert for an opinion, and make sure that you check the visible condition of the arms as well. Driving over large pot-holes can easily damage your arms, as well as hitting curbs. Used ones are a good buy, but you can't easily tell if they are straight unless you precisely measure them or place them on a car. New A-arms come complete with the original rubber bushings (the only way to get the factory bushings is to purchase a new A-arm) Manufacturer: Porsche OEM |
