LN Engineering's Nickies Cylinders  |
LN Engineering's Nickies cylinders look great and perform even better. They are machined out of a specially extruded aluminum alloy that is up to 50% stronger, 45% more thermally conductive, and much less brittle than the alloys used by Mahle for cast aluminum cylinders. When compared to cast iron cylinders, Nickies cool over 4x better! With 6.5 fins per inch versus the typical 4 fins per inch on cast cylinders, a phenomenal 60% increase of surface area is achieved providing improved heat transfer. Nickies are plated with Nickel-silicon-carbide (known as Nikasil), which has a reputation for providing hundreds of thousands of miles of worry-free service and comes with a lifetime warranty. All surfaces are acid etched to increase surface area, further increasing cooling ability by increasing air turbulence. Why go with cast cylinders when you can build a cooler-running and more durable engine instead with Nickies!
NOTE: ARP or RACEWARE high-strength head studs are strongly recommended for use with Nickies. If Nickies are purchased without pistons, please specify desired bore size or nominal piston diameter and desired piston/cylinder clearance in the Comments section during checkout. Cylinder heads are new factory heads that come with valve seats and guides installed.
NOTE: Cylinder heads DO NOT come with valves, springs or studs (sold separately below). Valve seats and valve guides are OVERSIZE and NEED FINAL FINISHING and MACHINING for proper fit.
