Ignition Control Units |
| Crane/Allison Ignition Systems |
This electronic ignition unit is sometimes referred to as the industry upgrade standard. The Allison/Crane unit works on an optical light sensor and detector, and eliminates the need for dwell adjustment. Once the engine timing is set, it should hold for an extended period of time. The result is better performance, and better fuel efficiency, as you can be assured that your car is running at peak performance. Crane/Allison systems are bolt-in replacements and can be used easily with the stock 911 ignition system. Installs in less than 1 Hour. Pelican Recommended among electronic ignition systems. Click here to view the Crane Cams/Ignition Site NOTE: If you already have a Porsche Electronic Tach, it should work just fine. If your tach does not work, it's either not hooked up right (or not hooked up at all)or you don't have an electronic tachometer. |

| Distributor Rotors |
| Worried about your lead-footed friend over-revving your engine when you let him test drive your 911? For the early cars, (up to 1977) there were two types of rotors available, one with a rev limiter, and one without. The rev limiter protects your engine from overzealous drivers. A small floating weight on the rotor grounds out the coil at the RPM limit preventing valve train and other engine damage. In 1978 and later, rev-limiting is controlled by the CD-box. |
