Secondary Air Injection (SAI) Maintenance DVD
The SAI system consists of an electric air pump, a check valve and a series of tubing and ports that direct fresh air directly aft of the exhaust valves for about 2 minutes during engine cold start. Often times, the Check-Engine-Light (CEL) will illuminate because the SAI ports in the cylinder heads have become clogged with carbon soot and fresh air is no longer able to reach the exhaust system. The overly "rich" emission is sensed by the (4) oxygen sensors and a fault is recorded and your 993 will not pass emissions testing. To unclog these SAI ports runs into the thousands of dollars to have your local dealer perform the maintenance!

911 Engine/Transmission Jack Adapter (1984-98)
This tool is similar in operation to the tool for the early engine cars, but also incorporates an adjustable cross member providing support to the heat exchangers, to prevent side to side tipping of the motor transmission assembly. The top of the adapter cradles the case bottom as well as the large rectangular boss at the rear of the motor, keeping the motor from shifting side to side, or front to back. This plate pivots on the base, and by means of an adjustment bolt, the engine and transmission can be tilted to line everything back up during installation. The base has a 1-3/16" diameter pin which sets in place of the cup on most floor jacks 2-1/4 ton and larger. The bottom of the tray, as well as the cross member arms, are lined in rubber to protect the soft engine case and the heat exchangers. This tool works on all 911 and 930 engines 3.2-3.6 liter without the removable sump plate.
