Until now, removing the center console from your 964/993 was not possible due to the required switches that where mounted in it. These plates have been specially designed to accept the factory switches installed in the center console of all 964/993 cars. Don't have the factory switches? No problem. These plates are also available without switch cutouts so you can install your own switches or gauges. Air Bag Frame
The bushings in this frame oftentimes crack with age, making the airbag unsecure and unsafe for deployment. If you notice the center horn pad is at all loose, inspect this frame for wear and replace it accordingly.
