Ball Cup Shift Bushing at base of shift lever, 911/912 (1965-86) Brand: OEM

The Porsche Factory Short Shift Kit was offered as an option (M241) during the mid-80's. It reduces the length of travel for the shift lever to move into each gear, and also provides additional room for moving the seat forward which is especially handy if you use an aftermarket seat with extra lateral support that may get in the way. The kit reduces the shift throw by about 35%, and maintains the lateral spacing of the gears in the shift pattern the side-to-side motion is reduced by only a small amount. This makes it more unlikely that you will select the wrong gear.

Overall, the Factory Short Shift Kit is a terrific upgrade for your 911 with type 915 5-speed transmission. It has proven to be a favorite amongst Porsche enthusiasts and racers for years, and it won't break the bank either. Installation is fairly simple, and the procedure is documented right here in our Pelican Parts Technical Article on the Factory Short Shift Kit Installation for the 1972-86 911.

Note: Ball Cup bushing is NOT included with this short shift kit. We recommend a new ball cup bushing when installing a short shift kit, # 911-424-139-00-M260.
