Turbo Tie Rod Kit |
The original factory tie rods use rubber dampers which can make steering feel spongy, especially with age. Upgrading to this 911 Turbo tie rod kit will give your car firmer and more responsive steering. Installation is a straight-forward process, and can typically be performed in an afternoon.
If your tie rod ends appear to be worn out, then now is the time to upgrade to the Turbo Tie Rod kit. This is one of our best-selling kits, and especially rewarding to install by yourself. Make sure that you purchase the tie rod end removal tool if you don't already own one. After you're done, you'll feel like you're driving a 911 Turbo! Well... sorta.
NOTE: Pelican Parts assembles these kits with quality OEM parts. Cheaper imitations are prone to failure, and have been known to fail within one year!

| Turbo Tie Rod Installation Wrench |
| When removing the tie rod assembly (from the rack itself) on a 911 or 914 and replacing it with the 930 style kit, you need two different kinds of wrenches (No, not a big 'ol pair of channel locks- No class!) For the stock 911 tie rods you need a thin 46mm spanner, for the new 930-turbo tie rods you need a thin 32mm open end. With this new combination wrench both needs are met. |

Tie Rods |
| Old or bent tie rods can sometimes be hazardous. Tie rods can be damaged by running over curbs or simply wear out with age. Replace yours with a new one and use the old one to flog the curb that you hit. Includes tie rod end. |

Steering Racks, Bushings and Hardware |
| Wobbly steering wheels getting you down? It could be caused by a number of things. How can you tell if your steering rack is worn? In most cases, you need to remove it from the car, and take a close look at it. Backlash is defined as the amount of slack that is in the rack when you turn the steering wheel. If the rack is overly worn, then you will have lots of slop in the wheel, and the pinion that sticks out of each end of the rack will also be loose. The rack may also have a tendency to stick. Again, you should remove your rack and inspect it carefully before you spend your money on a new or rebuilt one. |

| The MDS Nylon Steering Column Split Ring Bushing is made of a self-lubricating bearing material. This high quality bushing replaces the steel factory bushing. It is recommended that before installing the new bushing you inspect the roller bearing and use some wheel bearing grease to lubricate the ball bearings. Also inspect the spring; the spring puts tension on the split ring bushing by pushing it into the gap between the roller bearing and the steering shaft. This is what takes the play out of your steering wheel. If you feel that the spring doesn't have the correct tension or is broken, we recommend you purchase a new one since the bushing is no better than the tension that the spring provides. Instructions included. |
