Ball Joints and Related Hardware |
| Ball Joint Tools |
| The large castellated nut that secures the ball joint to the A-arm (901-341-425-00) should be removed either with a chisel or an impact hammer due to the incredible amount of force necessary to budge it free. This will normally render the old nut useless, and require it to be replaced along with the ball joint. This nut also requires a special tool for installation since it needs to be properly torqued to a whopping 184 ft-lbs. This specially made socket uses a 1/2" drive and is the only tool for the job. |

Elephant Racing Front/Rear Monoball Cartridges |
These little gems will hold your camber settings lap after lap. If you want to be fast, your suspension pickup points must be rigid to hold suspension geometry in check even under the heaviest corner loads. Pivots points need to be friction free. Heavy corner loads generated by todays stickier tire compounds easily compress and distort rubber bushings making it impossible to hold suspension settings. Camber, caster and toe flop around along with the bushings.
Elephant Racing monoball cartridges replace the compliant upper strut and rear trailing arm rubber bushings with hardened-steel precision spherical bearings. Since they cant compress, these monoballs hold suspension settings under the heaviest corner loads. Driver feedback becomes precise and positive.
- Precision hardened-steel spherical bearings
- Proprietary Weather Seal to prevent corrosion/contamination
- Eliminates rubber bushing compression
- Maintains alignment settings through turns
- Improves feel and driver feedback
The cartridges are pre-assembled and install easily into factory camber plates using hand tools (can even be secured with a safety wire). Rear monoballs slide right into factory trailing arms. The proprietary weather seal design ensures years of trouble free service.
Combine with Elephant Racings triangulated strut brace to achieve a rigid front suspension geometry that maintains settings under extreme braking and cornering loads.
Rear Monoball cartridges are now available in weather-sealed (for ultimate longevity) or unsealed versions. The rebuild kits can be used for any Elephant Racing rear monoball cartridge. |

Rennline Sealed Monoballs |
The Porsche 911 came equipped from the factory for high performance cornering -- but some things have changed in the 40+ years the 911 has been on the road. For one, the rubber suspension bushings that monoballs replace are most likely already worn out or cracked from decades of use.
Why not replace them with stock rubber bushings? Most 911 owners today, especially those of us who take our cars to the track, have equipped our Porsches with tires much wider and stickier than stock, which allows higher g-forces to be achieved in cornering and braking. During that type of hard driving, rubber suspension bushings are compressed and flexed by the extreme loads being put on them, defeating your car's finely tuned alignment settings, thereby reducing your braking and cornering potential. Monoballs are a downside-free improvement; because they eliminate four important sources of suspension slop without making your car's ride harsher. Your Porsche will handle and brake with greater precision, predictability, and feedback to the driver.
Rennline's front monoballs are a custom, high-quality design that can be used as a stand-alone upgrade or with Rennline's lightweight strut braces, which are specially designed to work in conjunction with Rennline's monoballs. Both the Rennline one-piece and triangulated strut braces bolt directly to the tops of the front monoballs, locking unprecedented rigidity into your car's front suspension. Rennline monoballs are cadmium-plated and come with specialized tools and detailed instructions to allow a simple and quick installation (other brands require large socket and wrench sizes to torque the front monoballs, requiring additional tool purchases). Each monoball bearing is also sealed on both sides with rubber gaskets to prevent premature wear due to moisture or dirt contamination, ensuring long track or street life for your monoballs.
NOTE: All front monoball kits come with all special tools required for an easy installation. |

Adjustable Spring Plates |
| Sway-A-Way Spring Plates |
These adjustable spring plates by Sway-A-Way are exactly what you need if you are looking to often adjust the rear height of your 911 suspension. Designed with a built-in adjustment screw, the height of your rear suspension can be changed and fine-tuned within a matter of minutes. If you've ever tried to adjust the height of your car by moving the torsion bar splines, you will quickly appreciate the time and money saved by using these plates. The kit contains brand new rear suspension bushings already installed. These spring plates allow for increased adjustability beyond the amounts that can be adjusted with the stock components on those 911s equipped with stock rear height adjustment screws. The ASP Adjustable Spring Plate kit corrects the rear suspension camber curve to maintain an optimal tire contact patch. What this yields is superior grip in turns, superior grip in straight-line braking, reduced tire wear - excellent benefits for both street and track. Porsche recognized these same benefits when they designed aggressive camber curves into all road cars beginning with the 1990 964 and continuing through the new 911 models. With the ASP early 911s can now achieve modern suspension performance.- Improved contact patch for both outside and inside tires on turns
- Improved contact patch for straight-line braking
- Go street-to-track without running "compromise" camber setting
- Run less static camber for superior tire wear, reduced camber thrust/lower rolling resistance on straights
Setup is fast, easy, and accurate. Toe and static camber can be dialed in independently. The troublesome stock eccentric adjusters are replaced with simple double-adjusters. Unlike the stock eccentric adjusters, ASP allows adjustment with vehicle weight resting on the tires making it easy to read a camber / toe gauge while turning the adjuster. By making equal adjuster turns on both driver and passenger sides, quick changes can be made trackside even if a camber gauge is not available.- Upper and lower double-adjusters
- Rotate same direction to set toe
- Rotate opposite direction to set static camber
Replaces factory spring plate blade and spring plate cover (1968-89). Bolt on - no welding required; works with torsion bars or coilovers. Works with any standard size spring plate bushing - including PolyBronze (sold separately). |
