Is your pedal cluster binding, looking old, or have broken springs? If you'd like to do it yourself, check out our Pelican Parts Technical Article on Rebuilding your Pedal Cluster. However, since this is not always an easy job, you can send it in for a complete refurbishment.

All pedal sets are rebuilt with bronze bushings The housing and pedals sand blasted and powder coated satin black. The clutch shaft, master cylinder rod, and accelerator crank are zinc plated. Springs are replaced if needed.

Sets are available on an exchange or out right basis. Current price for the rebuild service is $150 with a rebuildable core. Pedal sets with missing and broken parts will have added charges for parts replacement. Price subject to change with increases in the price of Porsche parts required to rebuild the pedal sets. Rebuilt sets can be sent out prior to return of the core depending on availability.

Pedal Cluster Parts

The Pedal Cluster takes a lot of abuse. Rainwater, or brake fluid from a leaky master cylinder has a tendency to collect at the bottom of the driver's footwell, deteriorating both the bushings and cable components of the cluster. A sticky pedal is a sign that your master cylinder might be leaking, or that one or more of your cables may be wearing. Rebuilding your pedal cluster is a straightforward job, and is documented in our Pelican Parts Technical Article on Rebuilding your Pedal Cluster.

Pedal Springs
The brake and clutch pedal return springs often break due to rust and wear over 25+ years. A stiff clutch may also be caused by a broken or worn out clutch pedal spring. This rather large spring is attached on the pedal cluster at the feet of the driver, and assists with the amount of force required to overcome the pressure plate in the clutch. A failure of this spring will lead to a clutch that feels a lot heavier than it should, and will require a lot more force to engage. Before replacing your clutch, make sure that you check the condition of this pedal spring. Replacement of the clutch pedal spring requires a lot of strength, and is usually best attempted with more than one person. Replacement of the brake pedal spring should be done if the pedal cluster is being rebuilt.
